Cabo San Pablo and Estancia Pirinaica in 4x4 from Ushuaia
This enthralling adventure takes us through time towards a wonderful natural landscape, along the Route of the Estancias, and in the company of forests, ecotone and guanacos, towards the imposing "Desdemona".
We will leave Ushuaia very early in the morning, after the pick up at the hotels, we will start driving along National Route 3. We will take a short break to use the restrooms and then continue our hike. After bordering Lake Fagnano, we will continue along the road to cross the access to the complementary route "A", to go more than 40 km towards the sea. We will then arrive at Cape San Pablo. This route winds through picturesque ranches and offers incredible landscapes of hills, lenga forests, rivers and cliffs that reach the sea, and it is also very common to find herds of sheep, guanacos, foxes and condors.
One of the main attractions of the day are the estancias located on Complementary Route A. We will visit the authentic Estancia Pirinaica. With almost 100 years of Patagonian production, it has wonderful facilities, which we are going to know. We will experience the country life, the shearing, as well as working spaces such as the carpentry shop, shearing sheds, the ranch house, the forest and the surroundings of the ranch. We will enjoy breakfast there, in the estancia's own style, with locally prepared regional products.
After the snack, we will continue to our next attraction, the San Pablo Lighthouse (Depending on the tide conditions, we may first visit the Desdemona boat and then hike to the lighthouse).
We will reach the top of the cape through a trail. Once at the top, there is the old inclined lighthouse, and in front of its shores, the rusty hull of the ship "Desdémona" that ran aground there in the early 1980's, giving it a dose of mystery typical of the End of the World, and as a sample of the past of shipwrecks and adventures that took place in the brave southern seas.
At the end of the walk to the lighthouse, we will go to the "Casa del Pescador", to taste the best recipes of "Róbalo", fresh local fish, put on the table with the best recipes of the fishermen's family. You will taste delicious smoked sea bass empanadas, or seafood, specialty of the house, as well as sea bass pizza, unique at the end of the world.
At the end of lunch, amidst anecdotes of the place of influence, we will visit the Desdemona ship, an icon of the region.
After all this exciting day, we will return to Ushuaia, where we expect to arrive around 7:00 pm.
