Emerald Lake is a glacial body, which collects water from melting of the Albino Glacier. It is located 450 meters within an aged beech forest and surrounded by mountains silhouette sharp, some with hanging glaciers that can be admired by visitors from a privileged position.

The name alludes to the lagoon amazing color of its waters.

In winter the activity is passing the valleys snow with snowshoes , which requires a few minutes of adaptation and an explanatory talk.

Departure from the hotel by road (20 kms ) to the Tierra Mayor valley. From the refuge Nunatak walk during which we cross peat bogs and ancient beech forests and Cohiues starts. The possibility to see foxes , condors and beavers is always latent.

 

We are in the heart of the Nature Reserve and Landscape Tierra del Fuego, in the Lost Lagoon, the color of its waters and its geographical location on the Fuegian range invites us to stop, rest while we eat a lunch box to its shores.

Finally we return to the shelter and then returned to the hotel.
